Dear Suvadians:
Today turned out to be quite a lucky day! I was allowed to scan some
old printed books (taken from palm leaf manuscripts) and some palm leaf
manuscripts from a library that never allowed such practices some
years before. It took some time before I could finally achieve my goal,
a week? two weeks? It does not matter!
1) I got an interesting book called 'kappal sathiram' with an elaborate
commentary.
2) Buvanakosam palm leaf MS dealing with cosmology according to
Saiva tradition.
3) Kothai naachiar talattu - an edition that is complete. Some may
remember
that I introduced this e-book in PM a year back. Several lines were
missing
from the Alwartirunagari edition. But this edition is complete with
full
text.
4) ekkalakkaNNi - a beautiful poetry in line with Tayumanavars famous
poems.
Author unknown.
5) nammazvar thallattu - palm leaf manuscript .
I tried my best to scan 'vaNa satiram' of the legendary Bogar! Alas! I
was
not permited to do so. May be more persuation is needed or permission
from higher authorities wanted. Let me try.
I plan to visit Indian Institute of Science from Tuesday and you will
be
informed
about the progress.
The five manuscripts mentioned above will appear as e-book in our
website
in the coming days.
