This sixteen palm leaf collection represent traditional home remedy for various ailments. The script of the manuscript is 20th century Tamil. The order does not represent the real order of the original palm leaf book (suvadi). This is because these assorted palm leaves were part of a damaged wholesome manuscript. This is from a collection of manuscripts preserved traditionally from goldsmith's families in Tamil Nadu, South India. These palm leaves were donated by Mr.Shanmuga Varadan of Nilakkoottai, Madurai District. |
